Mrs Matemilola Adesina-Salawu:.
Bio: Mrs Matemilola Adesina-Salawu is the Managing Partner of the law firm with a career span of almost two decades she is the head of the International, Business & Investment Law Group of the firm. She is a member of the International Association of Female lawyers (FIDA) and Africa Women Lawyers Association where she contributes immensely towards development programmes targeted at women.
Experience: She leads the firm in the areas of providing legal and business advisory services involving multipart commercial transactions for both local and international clients. She has represented multinational companies in the Oil and Gas industry in litigation and corporate matters and worked with the government in the Maritime sector. Her experience in the public service has also given her leverage on the regulatory and policy dimensions of the legal industry. She has served at various government levels and committees in the review and drafting of legislations in areas such as financial, trade and investment law. As an active member of the Nigerian Bar Association she has been actively involved in convening specialised law related seminars and symposiums aimed at law reform and policy implementation in areas such as Investment and Business law, Intellectual Property, Administrative law, Media & Entertainment Law.
Specialization: she has a wealth of knowledge in the areas of Investment and Business law, Environmental law, Oil & Gas, Insurance, Transportation law with a bias for Maritime Law, Energy and Telecommunications law.
YEJIDE OLUWATOSIN ADEWAKUN
Bio: Yejide is the Managing Solicitor at Alfred & Darnley. She heads the Corporate & Commercial Practice Group of the Firm. She has an LL.M (with Distinction) In Corporate Governance and Financial Regulation from the University of Warwick, Coventry, England. Prior to joining Alfred & Darnley, She obtained a degree in Law (LL.B Hons) from the Obafemi Awolowo University where she was also awarded the best graduating student in Criminal Law. She obtained her B.L from the Nigerian Law School.
Experience: she had worked as an associate in a top-notch Lagos based Law Firm as well as a Legal Officer in one of the topmost asset management company. She has professional experience in Finance, Corporate and Commercial Law, Company Secretarial Services and has provided legal advisory services to clients on asset management in the financial sector. She interfaces with regulatory agencies on behalf of clients
Specialization: She is actively involved in intricate commercial transactions involving various areas of law practice such as Capital Market, Insurance, Joint Venture, Real Estate, Pension & Employment and Due Diligence amongst others. She also renders business advisory services. She is devoted to charity causes and currently volunteers with the Sickle Cell Aid Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to caring for indigent people living with the sickle cell disease.
Adesola F. Ogunkoya
Bio: Adesola possesses dual legal system knowledge of Nigeria and South Africa. She completed the mandatory practical legal training at the South African law school at its Johannesburg branch where she was awarded the best outstanding performance in Conveyancing Practice and Practice Management in 2013. She is an associate at the Corporate and Commercial group of the law firm.
Experience: She wrote several legal opinions while she served as an intern at the Ondo State Ministry of Justice; Department of Public Prosecution, in the same position she worked alongside other astute lawyers to defend the rights of abused women at the Ondo State Office of the Public Defender. Adesola is well experienced in the South African legal system especially in criminal matters, Conveyancing practice, administration of wills and estate, constitutional matters and family law while she worked as a paralegal at one of the leading law firms in Kempton Park in Gauteng, South Africa. She has served at various capacities and fields ranging from business process associate, credit controller, client liaison officer of a pharmaceutical industry and as a website developer. She currently interfaces on a day to day basis with parastatals and other government agencies on behalf of clients with a view to resolving and meeting clients’ needs as well as ensuring clients are kept in the loop at all times on their matter through a regular update
Specialization: She has a resilient legal analytical skill and her main areas of interest and expertise are but not limited to; Human Rights law, Taxation law, Corporate law, Property law and Conveyancing, Pension law and practice, Family Music & Entertainment law.
Fatimat Nene Abubakar:
Bio: Fatimat obtained a degree in Law (LL. B Hons.) from Kogi State University she proceeded to the Nigerian Law School where she obtained her B. L. She is an associate in the firm’s litigation/dispute resolution and corporate/commercial practice groups.
Experience: She has represented banks, multinational companies, various government parastatals and diverse clients at all levels of courts in Nigeria in several cases which cut across various aspects of law like Property, Employment/Labour law, Matrimonial Causes and family matters, and Recovery of Debt etc. She prepares court processes, represents clients in courts and liaises with courts’ officials to ensure proper administration of clients ‘matters.
Specialization: Her core areas of specialization are but not limited to; litigation/ dispute resolution, alternative dispute resolution, corporate and commercial practice and matrimonial causes.
